Projapati is a Bengali family drama starring Dev as Joy Chakraborty and Mithun Chakraborty as his father, Gour Chakraborty. The film explores the beautiful bond between a father and son, along with love, loneliness, and family relationships.

Gour is a 65-year-old widower who lives with his son, Joy, a successful wedding planner. Although Joy spends his days arranging weddings for other people, he remains unmarried himself. Gour’s greatest wish is to see his son settle down and find a life partner, but Joy’s busy professional life and personal circumstances make it difficult.

Gour constantly tries to find a suitable bride for Joy. Meanwhile, he unexpectedly reconnects with Kusum, an old college friend, and their friendship gradually develops into something deeper. This makes Gour realise that even at his age, he deserves companionship and happiness.

As the story unfolds, both father and son face questions about love, marriage, and their future. Joy must balance his responsibilities towards his father with his own romantic life, while Gour begins to consider his own chance at a new beginning.
