From accompanying his father to film sets as a child to becoming one of the most celebrated stars of Bengali cinema, Deepak Adhikari, popularly known as Dev, has built an inspiring journey in the entertainment industry.
Born in a small village near Keshpur, West Bengal, and raised in Mumbai, Dev developed an early fascination with cinema while accompanying his father, Gurupada Adhikari, to film sets. What began as a childhood passion eventually transformed into a remarkable career in Bengali cinema.
Dev made his acting debut with Agnishapath (2006). Through his dedication, versatility and passion for cinema, he established himself as a leading actor, earning widespread recognition and a loyal audience.
Driven by his vision to create compelling stories and elevate Bengali filmmaking, Dev founded Dev Entertainment Ventures alongside his father. The production house began its journey with Chaamp (2017), marking his transition from actor to producer and opening a new chapter in his cinematic career.
Continuing to expand his creative horizons, Dev now steps into direction with DeSu7, his directorial debut. As an actor, producer and director, he remains committed to exploring new storytelling possibilities and bringing Bengali cinema to audiences beyond regional boundaries.
GURUPADA ADHIKARI
Director & Founder
Gurupada Adhikari’s association with cinema began long before the establishment of Dev Entertainment Ventures. Through his catering business, he worked with prominent Hindi film productions in Mumbai, including projects associated with filmmakers Abbas–Mustan and Prakash Jha. His professional journey introduced his son, Dev, to the world of filmmaking and played an important role in nurturing his early interest in cinema.
Together with Dev, he established Dev Entertainment Ventures, turning their shared connection with cinema into a film production enterprise. As Co-Founder and Director, Gurupada Adhikari has been part of the company’s journey from its initial productions to its expanding portfolio of Bengali films.
With a shared vision of supporting creative storytelling and developing meaningful cinematic projects, he continues to contribute to the growth and development of Dev Entertainment Ventures.
